How many years have you been in the company?
“I have been in the company for 3 years”
How many years have you been choreographing?
“This is my first year choreographing”
What inspired you this year in your creative process?
“I find myself to be an extrovert and I always get my energy from the people I’m around.”
How does your piece relate to the concept “true you”?
“The concept of my piece is connected to the “true you” because, when you are, for one reason or another, unable to rely on others to support you, you need to find your own inner strength and try to not allow others opinions to sway who we truly know we are.”

How many year have you been in the company?

“I have been in the company for 6 years.”

How many years have you been choreographing?

“I have been choreographing for 4 years.”

What inspired you this year in your creative process?

“Has there ever been a time where you were in a room filled with people you’ve never met or don’t really connect with? As you see others conversing and getting along with others, you can feel like you’re by yourself. Although you’re not physically alone, in your mind you can feel separated and lonely. Another idea that helped me choose this concept was how I have wanted to use a chair in my piece for many years, but never had the right concept. I feel as though using a chair in my piece really helps bring out a different emotion.”

How does your piece relate to the concept “true you”?

“My piece relates to the “true you” theme because it shows how you control your feelings and emotions. But, in a crowded room we don’t always have to feel alone. If we put ourselves out there, we will receive a completely different result to the situation and our emotions will change. Be the “true you” always.”

How many year have you been in the company?

I have been in the company for 4 years.

How many years have you been choreographing?

I have been choreographing for 2 years.

What inspired you this year in your creative process?

“Since this is my senior year, I wanted to create a dance based on something that was very special to me. I made a whole list of concepts that I could create a dance from. The concept that I chose was not on this list, which made it perfect. It’s never easy to find the right concept and the right song, but when you do, it’s a magical moment. This moment is what I experienced when I decided to create a piece based on a challenged friendship in my life. It shows that no matter the difficulties, my best friend and I found other ways to connect and we will always be best friends.”

How does your piece relate to the concept “true you”?

My piece relates to the “true you” theme because it shows that through good times and through bad times, as long as you are you, the end will turn out just fine. You and your best friend are friends because they like the “true you”, not someone you are trying to be.

(Charlotte is also our 2017-2018 rehearsal director)

How many years have you been choreographing with FYDE?

“I have been choreographing for 6 years.”

What inspired you this year in your creative process?

“As I started my senior year of high school, the year everyone looks forward to, I decided I wanted to enjoy it as much as I can. I have learned that the only thing in life I can control is my attitude. Schedules get busy and stress levels rise. All I can do is make everyday positive somehow may it be the way you start your day or the way you decide to end it.”

How does your piece relate to the concept “true you”?

“My piece relates to the “true you” theme of the concert because it stems from personal experience. I believe that positivity is an important part of the true me and who I strive to be. “
