My piece relates to the theme, “Lost and Found” because it is about feeling lost and numb, but then having people around you remind you how to feel again.
This year my piece is dedicated to my Uncle Arthur who passed away due to bone cancer this past year.
How does your piece relate to the theme, “Lost and Found”?
My piece relates to the theme this yeas, “Lost and Found” because even though I feel lost without him, I’ve found peace knowing that he’s always with me.
My piece is about realizing people have two sides of themselves. It’s always the ones you least expect to hurt you…
How does your choreography connect to our theme? “Lost and Found”?
My theme relates to the theme “lost and found” because while going though this difficult time in my life I felt lost. Now I have realized I deserve to be treated better than how I was, and finally feel that I found my self again.
My piece is about how someone can change your whole perspective from just one thing they said or that happened that day.

My piece relates to the theme “Lost and Found” because before the change in perspective you felt lost. You now can find yourself and old self once you change.
My piece is about how one can put the in the work to overcoming a trauma, just to be pushed down again by another hardship.

My piece relates to the theme “Lost and Found’ because my dance is about how one can lose all the work they put into healing, but gain it back with a breakthrough.
This year my piece is about realizing that its time to move on.
Time to start a new life for yourself: Emerge into a new world, a world were you come first.
How does your choreography connect to our theme? “Lost and Found”?
My piece relates to the theme “Lost and Found’ because you can feel lost in this world that isn’t right for you. Finding this best world for you can help you in so many ways.
This is my first year choreographing and I am so excited!
What is your piece about this year?
This year, my dance is about depression and our safety net (our loved ones and people) around us.
How have COVID-19 restrictions affected your choreography?
Well, I wanted to do a lot of throwing people in the air and lifting, but I could not do that due to COVID restrictions.
How does your choreography connect to our theme? “Moving together while being apart”?
Yes it does, but it’s a little different. It’s similar because people always move together but their feelings and emotions can get mixed up and move to a different pace than others.
This year my piece is about how we all have that one person in our life that picks up us when we are down and replace a frown with a smile
How have COVID-19 restrictions affected your choreography?
COVID-19 has played a huge role in my choreography this year. In my piece, I was really looking forward to exploring more weight sharing and partner work. With the new restrictions, I had to find a way to show the connection between two people without actual connection.
How does your choreography connect to our theme? “Moving together while being apart”?
My piece does connect to this years theme. The two dancers are moving forward together with there friendship without being able to physically be there for each other. Eye contact has become a huge part in my choreography. It is showing us that they still care for each other and are still there for each other without touching.
This year, my dance is based around the theme of simplicity amongst chaos. I find it important to look back on all that we have accomplished during the craziness of our day to day lives, and reflect on our experiences.
How have COVID-19 restrictions affected your choreography? If any?
COVID-19 restrictions have definitely played a huge role in my choreography throughout my dance. Not being able to have the element of connection and touch in my piece has made it harder to convey the message of togetherness through rough circumstances, such as the past 10 months living with the pandemic.
How does your choreography connect with our theme? “Moving together while being apart.”
Yes! Without being able to do partner work in my piece, I decided to present my theme as if each of my dancers are “living in their own world” so to speak, and having separate experiences that all have a common ground based off the theme of my dance. I expressed this through separate solo parts all throughout my dance, and matching the intensity of their movement to the musicality of my song choice.
My dance this year is based off of the idea of finding a safe haven through dance.
How have COVID-19 restrictions affected your choreography? If any?
Due to COVID-19 , it was hard choreographing without partner work.
How does your choreography connect with our theme? “Moving together while being apart.”
My dance connects to our theme because it’s expressing the idea of dance always being someone’s safe place . No matter how far apart we all are, we will always have dance to come back to when we need it most.
